Willow Bend Rail Line

Thanks to Chris Nicholes for this photo and interesting description:

Willow Bend Rail line retaining wall, built by the DMR 1968. The wall was not planned, but was needed when the big Dozer ripping and pushing the cutting out, pulled up the rail line when working too close. It was panic stations when the workers realised the train was getting close – it was a race along the line with stop signs.

Does anyone know who would have any photos of The Oddfellows Hall which was located where Fuller Street is now?
    This hall fronted Fitzroy Street.
On the opposite side of the hall was the Eastern Jade Chinese Restaurant which was owned by the Doon Family.
The only photo I have, was taken from the upstairs balcony of the Oriental Hotal looking accross
towards The Court House with the Oddfellows Hall in the background.

There was also a Hotel on the corner of Beale Street and Fitzroy Street opposite the Ambulance Station called The Horse and Jockey ( Where Jeff Bond’s house is now) This hotel was built by my Great Grandfather masters. Any photos of the pub would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Phil, Jo Masters here, daughter of Robert. I’d love to see any photos you have found of the Horse and Jockey Inn you mentioned above.
I have built a decent tree on Ancestry.com.au so feel free to tap in. It would be great to find out more about my Pop’s family.
